Wrexham are closing in on the signing of a former Manchester City player.

Wrexham are set to sign a former Manchester City player that left the Etihad in the summer.

The likes of Mo Faal and Ollie Rathbone joined Wrexham during the summer transfer window.

And the club are poised to complete another signing despite the window slamming shut last month.

According to Jack Guaghan, Wrexham are expected to complete the transfer of Josh Adam following his release from Man City earlier this summer.

He’s set to pen a two-year deal at Wrexham, having been on trial at the club.

Speaking after Wrexham’s 3-0 victory over Shrewsbury, Phil Parkinson referenced the 20-year-old, calling him a ‘real talent’,

He said: “At the moment we will roll with what we have got.

“We have got some good players who haven’t figured much yet, so we don’t want to bring someone in for the sake of it.

“We have had young Josh Adam in from Man City on trial. He is a player we would like to keep because he has got real talent but in terms of a senior player coming in at the moment, we have got enough of those fighting for places.”

Adam, who began his career at Celtic before moving to Man City, attracted interest from Lille and Club Brugge last year following his showings at youth level.

He scored 18 goals and registered 12 assists in 99 games across the various youth levels for the Blues.

The attacking midfielder is on the verge of joining Wrexham after being let go by the Premier League champions this summer.

Parkinson’s side, who have secured back-to-back promotions, have made a blistering start to this season’s League One campaign.

They have won four of their opening five league games, scoring 11 goals in the process.

If the Welsh side get the Adam deal over the line, then he could be in contention to play against Birmingham City on September 16.
