Ronaldinho has outlined the Premier League club he most enjoys watching.

The former Barcelona and AC Milan star hung up his boots back in January 2018 after a career spanning 17 years.

Since then, media work has dominated his post-footballing exploits but he is known to be a fan of English football.

But which club does the 2002 World Cup winner enjoy spectating the most?

Ronaldinho, speaking exclusively to JOE back in 2022, said it is a certain side from Merseyside which catches his attention the most.

“It’s hard [to choose just one team], there are many. I really like a lot of players from many clubs,” he began.

“It is hard to choose just one. I think each club has a great player that I like watching, but I think the attacking players for Liverpool are the players that I currently really like watching.”

Supporters of Arne Slot’s side will be intrigued to know whether the former PSG man still watches on with a keen interest.

Coming up against the Reds just twice in his career with the now 44-year-old winning one game and losing the other.

That was during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in 2007, as Rafael Benitez’s side eliminated the reigning champions over two legs on the away goals rule.

Liverpool are back in action in the Premier League this weekend as they take on Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s side are yet to lose so far this season after an impressive start since Jurgen Klopp’s summer exit.

Wins against Ipswich Town, Brentford and Manchester United have also come without conceding a goal.

Slot has praised the foundations being built by his side after just a few short months in the job at Anfield.

“I don’t think [there has been] that much difference,” he began.

“You are used to, if you followed Liverpool for a long time, them pressing really high. That’s what we try to do now as well. “Like I said, three games played, the first two with Ipswich and Brentford were difficult opponents, let that be clear, but I said before I am not expecting them to end up in the top nine.

“We played with United a very good team with a lot of quality, so it impressed me that we could keep a clean sheet, although we also needed our goalkeeper in two moments.

“A good start, let that be clear, but still a lot to prove.”
