Martin Odegaard suffered an injury during the international break.
Mike Arteta’s update on Martin Odegaard’s injury has left Arsenal confused.
During the latest international break, Gunners skipper Odegaard was injured during the UEFA Nations League clash between Norway and Austria.
The midfielder was taken off in the 67th minute after suffering what looked like an ankle injury.
Ahead of this weekend’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, Arteta was asked about Odegaard’s fitness.
He said: “We need some more tests. Let’s see what happens in the next day or so. This afternoon probably. Let’s see the extent of the injury and how quickly we can get him back. Martin wants to be here every day but we have to wait and see.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Typical Mikel response, keeping his cards close to his chest.”
Another tweeted: “THERES HOPE.”
A third fan added: “Mind game, let’s see.”
Someone else wrote: “WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!”
A fifth commented: “Okay, let’s hope for the best.”

When asked about new signing Mikel Merino, who suffered an injury during his first training session, Arteta said: “Better, it’s a slow process and it takes a while to heal. We’re using this time to make sure he understands and is back to help the team straight away.”
The Spaniard also gave updates on the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Riccardo Calafiori and Raheem Sterling.
He said: “Gabi was out there. He’s got another session tomorrow and if everything goes well he’ll be with us. He’s(Calafiori) another one where we’ll have to wait another day.
“I knew straight away after 10 seconds that we had to bring him(Sterling) because he really wanted it. After 10 seconds I knew already before the next questions that we had to bring him here.”
