England were in action against Finland on Tuesday night.

England interim boss Lee Carsley has spoken about Arsenal star Ben White’s future with the national team.

On Tuesday night, the Three Lions welcomed Finland to Wembley for a UEFA Nations League clash.

The man of the night, Harry Kane, who made his 100th appearance for England, scored twice to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory.

After the match, interim boss Carsley was again asked about White’s future with the team.

The Independent’s Miguel Delaney wrote on social media after the Finland match: “Carsley says he has ‘not planned to’ speak to Ben White, as regards a call-up.

“‘He has asked to be not contacted’.”

During Gareth Southgate’s time in charge, White left England’s 2022 World Cup camp due to ‘personal reasons’ and has not been picked ever since.

At the time, it was reported that White and Southgate’s assistant, Steve Holland, had an exchange that led to the Arsenal’s man exit from the camp.

Reflecting on his first two matches in charge of England, Carsley said: “Definitely don’t feel comfortable, no. I’ve definitely been out of my comfort zone this international window.

“It’s been enjoyable but I’ve had to make sure that every single day I’ve produced really high standards, as have the rest of the staff, and everyone seems to have responded to it.”

He added: “We try and do as good a job as we can. We’ve been fortunate to get two good results and it’s about building on that now.”

Kane was also full of praise for the 50-year-old, he said: “He’s come with a a great energy, he talked a lot about freedom and going out there and playing with your best attributes. Going and attacking and hurting the team and without the ball suffocating teams.

“We’ve done that well in the two games. Of course room for improvement but it’s been a great start for him and great to work with him.”
