Rain or Shine head coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao accused Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots center Ian Sangalang of intentionally poking the eye of Elasto Painters import Aaron Fuller.
In an interview with Spin columnist Homer Sayson, Guiao said he reviewed the video of the incident and is convinced Sangalang’s action was deliberate.
“Sinadya ni Sangalang tusukin ang mata ni Fuller,” Guiao said. “We rewatched the video. Fuller has a swollen left eye and is in pain.”
Fuller finished with four points, two rebounds, two assists, and a block in 11 minutes of action as the Painters suffered a 121-69 rout to the Hotshots in Game 2 of the PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals.
Guiao shared that Fuller is still going through treatments in the emergency room of the St. Luke’s Hospital in Taguig City and is doubtful for Game 3 on Sunday night.
Both the Painters and the Hotshots are tied at 1-1 in the best-of-five series.
