Vhong Navarro and other It’s Showtime hosts reminisced about the show’s beginning

Comedian-host Vhong Navarro was featured in this revelation by his It’s Showtime co-host Jhong Hilario.

Vhong and Jhong have been friends for many years already. They were both part of the popular 90s dance group Streetboys and they will have their reunion dance concert soon. Now, they have been together in the Kapamilya noontime show for many years also.

The show is celebrating its 15th anniversary and as a tradition, they are doing their Magpasikat in which they are grouped to showcase their performances in the week-long celebration.

In a recent episode of the show, based on the article in Abante, the hosts talked about how It’s Showtime’s beginning. It was first launched on October 24, 2009, as a pre-noontime show.

When it started, the show featured five hosts who were Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, and Kim Atienza now have his own morning variety show TiktoClock on GMA.

At that time, Unkabogable Vice Ganda, who is now the main of the show, was part of the “hurado.”

Jhong mentioned in a recent episode that they are grateful to Vhong for allowing his talent fee to be lowered in order to accommodate other hosts. “Thank you for sharing your TF,” other hosts said to Vhong.

Then, Kim Chiu said, “Thank you sa pag-share sa amin.” Then, Vhong asked why his talent fee was “nabawasan” and then revealed that it was because of Kim. The Chinita Princess quipped that it was not because of her and pointed at Ogie Alcasid who jokingly said, “Siyempre senior kami.”

Meanwhile, Magpasikat 2024 started on October 21. The Monday group was composed of Vice Ganda, Karylle, and Ryan Bang. They were followed by Ogie Alcasid, Kim Ciu, MC, and Lassy who performed on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, it was Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, Darren Espanto, and Ion Perez, who showcased their performance while the Thursday group was composed of Anne Curtis, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz. The last group that performed featured  Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez.
