San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent is glad to have Jordan Adams back at his disposal in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup.

It seems like Jordan Adams would not be missed as much as he made a roaring return to the San Miguel fold in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Friday, Sept. 13.
The Beermen previously replaced Adams with Sheldon Mac, who suited up in their previous victory against NLEX.
But Adams quickly reported for duty anew for the 29-time champion squad a game after, submitting 49 points that resulted to San Miguel’s walloping of Phoenix, 139-127.
It was all about the victory for the returning reinforcement who did it for his Beermen crew.
“Most of all, we got the win. I just went out there and played hard and tried to get the win for my teammates,” said Adams.
When first told that the management was going in another direction and bringing in Mac, Adams handled it like a true professional.
“I just had to stay ready. They told me to stay ready; you never know what will happen,” he said.
“So that’s my job as a professional: Stay in the gym and stay ready for my name to be called.”
San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent admired that about the import, who formed a lethal high-low partnership with eight-time league Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo.
“What’s nice about Jordan is he was professional enough to stay with us and to play with us again. So I’m very happy Jordan stayed,” said Gallent.
Gallent also explained why the Beermen proceeded to replace Adams with Mac, despite the former leading the team to three wins in five games.
“We just wanted to try a 1234 guy. Unfortunately, it backfired. But Sheldon Mac played well against NLEX. But we decided to bring Jordan back, so it was great,” said Gallent.
Asked whether the explosive game was a validation of sorts for him, Adams gave a vague answer.
“Got to keep winning,” he said.
