MANILA – After ending the elimination round with two straight losses, the San Miguel Beermen must regroup as the 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal round looms, according to eight-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) June Mar Fajardo.

After a 112-122 defeat on Thursday against Rain or Shine, the Beermen again absorbed a loss, this time at the hands of Blackwater, 94-111 on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

“Okay lang, ‘yun nga, talo na ‘yan, wala na tayo magagawa ro’n. ‘Yun nga sabi ni coach, back to zero naman sa playoffs. Kahit sino naman makakalaban namin sa kabila, malakas din, same lang din,” Fajardo said.

“Kailangan namin mag-regroup, kailangan namin mag-bounce back kasi talo kami. Rain or Shine, malaki lamang nila, Blackwater malaki rin lamang,” he added. “Kailangan namin tingnan kung paano kami makaka-adjust.”

The Beermen played against the Bossing without their import, Jordan Adams, who suffered a hamstring injury versus the Elasto Painters.

Sans Adams, Fajardo led the Beermen’s offense with 23 points and 12 boards.

“‘Yung standing namin sa elimination, wala na ‘yon. Tapos na ‘yon, so focus na lang kami sa playoffs,” Fajardo concluded.

Although SMB’s final placement in Group B will depend on Ginebra’s game against NLEX on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
