Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Bandra for threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan and demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore.

The arrest on Wednesday came a day after the Mumbai Traffic Police received a message from an unidentified sender who threatened to kill the actor if he did not pay the ransom.

A PTI news agency report identified the arrested accused as Azam Mohammed Mustafa, a resident of Bandra East.

On Tuesday, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Noida for issuing threats to Salman Khan and Bandra East NCP MLA Zeeshan Siddique, whose father and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Tayyab, also demanded money from Zeeshan Siddique and Salman Khan.

This is not the first time that Salman Khan has received a death threat.

In 2022, a letter threatening the actor was found on a bench near his residence at Mumbai’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West.

The actor also got an email allegedly sent by gangster Goldy Brar in March 2023.

Earlier this year, two unknown people attempted to trespass into the actor’s farmhouse in Panvel using fake identities.

In April, suspected members of the Bishnoi gang had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home.
