MANILA (UPDATED) – June Mar Fajardo has added another accolade to his illustrious career.
The San Miguel star center was given the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference award on Wednesday, moments before Game 4 of the Finals at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The pride of Cebu is now a ten-time winner of the BPC trophy–eight coming from all-Filipino tournaments.
He holds the most BPC awards received in the history of the PBA.
Fajardo and NLEX’s Robert Bolick were tied in the statistical points with 472 points, but the Beermen star claimed 514 media votes and 114 players’ votes to secure the top individual plum of the Philippine Cup.
Stephen Holt of TerraFirma finished second behind Fajardo, who tallied a total of 651 points on 448 statistical points and was second in media votes with 196. However, he received the least players’ votes with six.
Bolick finished third after nabbing a total of 641 points. The Road Warriors’ standout, despite consistent efforts since the preliminary round, only captured 136 media votes and 33 players’ votes.
His team’s quarterfinal exit clearly dented Bolick’s chances of winning the BPC for the first time in his career.
Finishing in fourth and fifth places were SMB’s CJ Perez (503 points) and Christian Standhardinger (476 points) of Barangay Ginebra.
