Iya Villania on fifth baby: ‘It was always a welcome surprise’

Iya Villania shared that her fifth pregnancy was not planned but was a welcome surprise.

“Every time people asked me was this planned? I always tell them na may umaabot ba sa lima na planado?” she quipped in an interview with Boy Abunda.

“So no, this was not planned, it was not planned but it was always a welcome surprise because I always knew that until I wasn’t tied or until he (referring to husband Drew Arellano) [wasn’t] tied, we always knew there was a possibility.”

Iya relayed that she is set to give birth to a baby girl in February. The television host also mentioned that she and Drew plan for their fifth child to be their last.

In the same interview, Iya was asked for her tips on raising kids. She highlighted that being healthy is one of the key aspects of her parenting.

“I think malaking bagay na I’m healthy and fit. Because then I’m able for my family and it allows me to be with my children, do things with my children, do things for my children and my family,” she remarked.

“So I think one major thing is to get fit and get healthy so you can use your body and do things with confidence and with strength… Mas may pasensya ka, mas may endurance ka, mas masasamahan mo sila sa mga trip nila,” she said.

Iya pointed out that having a healthy marriage is also essential in raising a family. “I really believe that a healthy and happy marriage will be the best gift that we can give our children. And I am so grateful that Drew also believes the same. I think the amount of respect and love that we have for each other is something that I am so grateful for and has really brought us to where we are now,” she said.

When asked what her dreams are as a young mom, she replied: “If I have a dream, my dream is to just travel with my family. My dream would be to have funds that would be able to sustain a lifestyle of traveling and being with the family. I am not even looking to have a luxurious kind of life, but I just love to be able to travel with my children.”
