Despite the criticism and constant talk on social media, Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool FC, did not abandon his childhood love and his wife, “Maggie”, with whom he began a successful journey and the most prominent football career in the history of Egyptian sports.
Mohamed Salah’s appearance in any match is important to the Egyptian sports community, as he is one of the most successful players on the scene in recent years. Therefore, his family and social life have become the focus of millions of followers.
Salah and Maggie’s story began in childhood, and the duo continued their journey together after celebrating their wedding on December 18, 2013, and the duo gave birth to “Makkah and Kian”.
Mohamed Salah told the story of how he met Maggie before their marriage in statements on the “Sahibet Al-Saada” program: “Our story started at school, because we were from the same country, but at the time we didn’t talk much, but we started to get to know each other more at university.”
He added: “After university, our relationship was official, and this was during the period in which he played professionally in Basel, and we got engaged after that and got married before he became a professional in Chelsea, and she was happy for me.”
He continued his speech: “Maggie does not pay attention to the words that are said about our relationship, and she does not deal with social media much, and she knows my nature and that I only like calmness and pay attention to my work.”
The Egyptian Pharaoh continued: “She is the most important person in my life and in my house, and she cares about our family and the house the most. For hours, I remain stressed and my psychological state is not the best. She cares about me and everything, and of course I will not be able to fulfill her rights.”
Regarding naming his daughter, Salah said: “Maggie chose the name Mecca from the moment we met. She told me that if we had a daughter, we would name her Mecca. I told her that when we get married and have children, everyone would name her Mecca.”
He continued: “She was the one who named the girls. Until Kayan told me this was a new name, I did not object and told her it was fine.”
Regarding his family’s adaptation outside Egypt, he said in statements to the “Al Hekaya” program: “Makkah speaks with a British accent now. She makes fun of me because you speak Arabic. They are adapting and my wife loves the country, unlike when we were in Italy. It was difficult for her, but she loves England.”
He concluded his speech: “Maggie takes great care of Mecca at school and visits her every now and then to see how she is doing and to check on her. Mecca is smart and has a very strong personality.”
As a result of their strong and interconnected relationship, which is considered an example of a successful marriage, the couple appeared in many advertisements, the latest of which was Vodafone’s Ramadan advertisement, and their scenes with the lyrics of the song “Next to Me at All Times” captured the attention of social media users and followers
