After experiencing a ratings slump and hitting recent lows, Kapamilya’s flagship noontime show “It’s Showtime” is back to its usual strong ratings.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, “It’s Showtime” saw a ratings boost as it kicked off its Magpasikat week.
On the first day of Magpasikat week, Monday, October 21, “It’s Showtime” registered an 8.2 percent rating, a 1.3 percent increase from its Saturday, October 19 rating of 6.9 percent. In contrast, its competitor “EAT… Bulaga” recorded a rating of 3.4 percent. Monday’s episode highlighted Team Vice, Karylle, and Ryan’s performance themed “Hope.”
On Tuesday, October 22, “It’s Showtime” dipped slightly to 7.2 percent but maintained a significant lead over “EAT… Bulaga”, which rated 3.7 percent. Team Ogie, Kim, MC, and Lassy performed with the theme “Tigil, Hinga, Kalma” on this day.
By midweek, Wednesday, October 23, “It’s Showtime” bounced back with a 1.9 percent increase to 9.1 percent, climbing to the fifth spot on the overall ratings chart. “EAT… Bulaga” also saw an improvement, rising to 4.5 percent. This day featured a performance by Team Vhong, Ion, Darren, and Amy with the theme “Kamatayan.”
Magpasikat is “It’s Showtime”’s annual showcase, celebrating their anniversary by spotlighting each team’s creativity and talent. This year marks the show’s 15th anniversary, a milestone unmatched by any other ABS-CBN weekday noontime variety show.
Ratings for Thursday and Friday’s episodes, featuring performances by Team Anne, Jugs, and Teddy, and Team Jhong, Jackie, and Cianne, respectively, are yet to be released.
