Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario will share the stage with their Streetboys family

It’s Showtime hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario talked about the reunion dance concert of Streetboys.

Vhong and Jhong became members of one of the most popular dance groups during the 90s. They were featured in different TV shows and popularized choreographies. Eventually, some members ventured into their solo careers while some chose to have other careers outside of showbiz.

While some members left the entertainment industry, Jhong and Vhong remained active. They are part of the Kapamilya noontime show.

Just recently, it was announced that Streetboys will have their reunion dance contest. This is set to happen on November 18, at the New Frontier Theater, Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City, and with the title SB90s The Streetboys.

It took them 31 years before having their reunion concert. During a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Jhong Hilario said that it is just now that they thought of reuniting on stage.

He also said that fortunately, their schedules matched as some of the members are already living abroad. “So, sabi namin ni Kuys Vhong [Navarro], this is the time na talagang ituloy na natin yung reunion since hindi na kami bumabata,” Jhong shared. He added that they also want this concert to be a form of showing appreciation to their fans.

Vhong Navarro said that it a mixed happy and sad moment for them. Happy because finally after a decade and a year, their reunion concert will be happening but they were a bit sad because it took them so long to finally do this.

“Yung lungkot, kung bakit naging 31 years saka naisip na gawin. Puwede namang mas maaga, di ba? Ngayon kasi nararamdaman na namin sa rehearsals yung sakit ng likod,” Vhong shared.

He also said that they are happy that within that three decades, Direk Chino Rono did not leave them. The director became their manager and this happened even without a written contract.

“Yung pagtayo ni Direk Chito bilang tatay-tatayan namin, e, lumagpas na po at naging lolo-lolohan na rin. Kasi yung mga anak namin, parang mga apo na rin niya,” he said.

Vhong Navarro also shared they are together every year during the holidays and birthdays.
