Amid industry speculation about a possible replacement of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV and GMA Network’s noontime slot by the Kapuso-produced show ‘TiktoClock,’ GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes has addressed the rumors, confirming ongoing discussions for the renewal of ‘It’s Showtime’s’ contract.
In a recent statement, Atty. Gozon-Valdes clarified: “We are in the process of negotiations now for the renewal of Showtime.”
The rumors surfaced as ‘It’s Showtime’s’ current agreement with GTV, GMA Network’s free-to-air channel, is set to end in December 2024.
The partnership between ‘It’s Showtime’ and GTV began on July 1, 2023, following the signing of their initial contract on June 28, 2023. Earlier this year, on March 20, 2024, GMA Network and ‘It’s Showtime’ renewed their collaboration, paving the way for the show to air on GMA Network’s main channel starting April 6, 2024.
As the negotiations continue, fans and viewers are eagerly awaiting an official announcement about the show’s future on GTV, GMA Network, while industry watchers keep an eye on potential changes to Kapuso’s noontime programming lineup.
