PBBM disappointed by VP Sara’s statement that they are not friends: I was deceived

IT SEEMS like Vice President Sara Duterte has gotten President Bongbong Marcos’ hopes up when it comes to their “friendship.”

This was what the president himself admitted after he was ambushed during an interview by several reporters at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) in Laos.

He was asked for his reaction to Duterte’s statement last month that he and Mr. Marcos are not friends despite running together in the 2022 elections as “Uniteam.”

It will be recalled that VP Sara said: “We weren’t friends first, we just met because we were running mates…We only talked during the campaign and then at work.

“Senator Imee Marcos is my real friend, she has known me since 2012. When I tendered my resignation, that was the last time President Marcos and I spoke.”

President Bongbong said, “I don’t know anymore. I’m not quite sure I understand.”

“I’m a little dismayed that she doesn’t think that we are friends. I always thought that we were,” pag-amin niya sa reporters.

Aniya pa, “But maybe I was deceived.”

Before the president left, he appointed Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III as the country’s “caretakers.”According to President Bongbong, he did not instruct the vice president because he is no longer part of his administration.

“She’s still the Vice President, but she’s not part of the administration anymore,” sambit niya.

Paliwanag niya, “She’s still the Vice President, but she left the administration, [she’s] not part of the day-to-day running that we’re doing so it would be unfair to ask her and to impose this duty on her since it’s not part of her duty now.”
