Ruru Madrid was praised by his co-star

Kapuso primetime action hero Ruru Madrid received these words from his Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan co-star actor Boom Labrusca.

Ruru is one of GMA’s homegrown talents. In recent years, big opportunities were given to him in the entertainment industry. He played lead roles in teleseryes and last year, he starred in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Green Bones alongside Kapuso drama king Dennis Trillo.

Ruru won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for his portrayal of the role of jail officer  Xavier Gonzaga.

As 2025 starts, Ruru was given a major project once again. He reprised his role in the series Lolong which was first aired in 2022.

In a recent interview, based on the article GMA Entertainment, Boom Labrusca, who is one of the new additions to the series, shared his thoughts on working with Ruru Madrid for the first time.

Boom said that Ruru did not act like he is the lead star in the series because he was really amiable. “Sa lahat ng bidang nakatrabaho ko, ito, napakabait, sobra. Sobrang bait talaga. Sabi ko nga sa kanya, ‘Alam mo, parang hindi ka bida umarte.’ Sobrang totoong tao lang siya sa set. ‘Yung set namin, sobrang says,” the older actor said.

Then, Boom jokingly said that if actor Victor Neri was able to have a project with Ruru twice, perhaps this could happen to him also in the next projects. “Okay ba brother? Hindi, gawin mo nang tatlo! ‘Di naman ako maarte eh,” he added.

Previously, seasoned actress Jean Garcia, who is also one of the cast members of Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan praised Ruru Madrid. She said that the actor is a good leader. Jean shared that Ruru would always make sure that everyone on the set was okay.

The Kapuso primetime series will start airing on January 20, at 8:00 p.m. and it will have a delayed telecast on GTV at 9:40 p.m.
