Sam Milby called Catriona Gray “a woman I still love and care about” as he finally addressed the viral video of his ex-fiancee getting emotional during the concert of  singer-songwriter TJ Monterde last February.

At the concert, a camera caught Gray leaning against her friend Isabel Oli as she appeared to cry while the lyrics of Monterde’s song “Hanggang Dito Na Lang” washed over her. Gray’s vulnerable moment was witnessed by concertgoers as her face was suddenly flashed on the big screen. Just a few seats away, Milby was sitting with some friends.

Commenting on the video, Milby told Boy Abunda in an interview on Monday, March 3, that it was also hard for him to be just a few seats away from “the woman I still love and care about” while a song about heartache was being played in the background.

“I was told that she’ll be there. I was aware. I didn’t know TJ… first off, he has beautiful songs. I didn’t know na gan’un ang mga songs niya (I didn’t know that his songs were like that). It kind of… it was such a beautiful concert, but it was really hard,” he said.

The singer-actor then confessed that he was unsure how to react upon seeing Gray’s emotional reaction, although he remained mum on what truly happened between them at the time.

“A woman I still love and care about… I see a few seats away from me is crying. [TJ has] beautiful songs. And I didn’t know how to react. Like I said, I really can’t give any details about that,” he said.

Feeling guilty

Staying on the topic of Monterde’s concert, Milby said he was uncomfortable during the concert. He nonetheless felt guilty since it was meant to be a celebration of the singer-songwriter’s career.

“If people thought that I was comfortable, it was the complete opposite. I was not comfortable during that concert,” he said. “It was something that should be celebrated because it was a beautiful concert, my best friend John Prats was directing, but it was a hard situation and I was kind of frozen at the time. It wasn’t easy at all.”

Also in the same interview, Milby became emotional as he revealed that moving on from his relationship with Gray was “really hard” although he could not comment whether he was at the point of wanting to fix their relationship.

The “Everything About My Wife” star confirmed his split with the former beauty queen last February, where he stressed that Moira Dela Torre was not the cause behind their breakup. He also clarified that he is “not friends” with the “Paubaya” hitmaker anymore.

Gray has yet to make any public statement addressing her breakup with Milby and her viral video, as of press time.
