IT’S SHOWTIME – According to rumors, the ABS-CBN noontime show will be airing in GMA just until December 2024.
This year was monumental for former rivals ABS-CBN and GMA as they signed a contract that officially ended the decades-long rivalry. Based on a previous article, ABS-CBN and GMA signed contracts for It’s Showtime to officially air on the Kapuso network.
Showtime began airing on GMA Network’s main channel on April 6. This historical event was graced by the top executives of both companies. Hosts such as Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Karylle, Amy Perez, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Darren, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, MC, Lassy, and Cianne Dominguez were also there.
Apart from the main channel, the Kapamilya noontime show is also available on GMA Pinoy TV. However, as the year 2024 approaches the end of the calendar, several rumors come out, and among the most persistent is that Showtime is just going to air until December 2024 in GMA.
How true is this?
According to a post from PEP, TiktoClock will fill the noontime slot which will be allegedly left by Showtime. According to their sources, TiktoClock will occupy the slot starting January 2025.
Currently, TiktoClock is the pre-programming of Showtime, a morning variety show of the Kapuso Network.
Moreover, GMA is reportedly expected to release a statement regarding this in the coming days. Previously, Ogie Alcasid reacted to the rumors and he said, “Di ko alam, eh. I think, wala namang may alam. But it’s hanging in the air. So, siyempre, lahat kami… sanay na kami. Bahala na.”
To recall, since ABS-CBN failed to secure a renewed franchise, the company started to focus on content making aired on various platforms. Showtime was one of the few shows that stayed.
