‘It’s Showtime’ Hosts Relive Unforgettable Moments in Celebration of Their Epic 15th Anniversary – Which Memory Touched Your Heart the Most? (TR)

The hosts of the longest-running ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime” recalled their favorite moments in a press conference on Friday, October 11, ahead of their upcoming “Kinseyyy” anniversary celebrations.

Likening the program’s history to birthdays, comedy superstar Vice Ganda said that they are lucky that the madlang people have stayed with them for the past 15 years.

“Nagiging espesyal siya the moment you look back, ‘pag naisip mo ‘ano na ba mga pinagdaanan ko sa mga nakalipas na panahon.’ Tapos kaya siya naging espesyal kasi sa lahat ng bahagi ng paligid mo at nanatili,” Vice said.

When asked about their favorite segments, Vice recalled how she and partner Ion Perez met during the show’s drag competition “Miss Q&A.”

The hosts also recalled their favorite guest stars that graced the “It’s Showtime” stage with Jhong Hilario mentioning Barbie Forteza for her indomitable energy, and Vhong Navarro singling put Alden Richards’ appearance despite their competition with “Eat Bulaga” during the peak of the AlDub craze.

With the Magpasikat competition held every year, the most memorable performance for Tyang Amy Perez was her first performance with Anne Curtis’ team which involved comedian Joey Marquez’s harness stunt. But the standout performance for Jugs Jugeta was their baliktad performance, performing the show’s theme song in reverse, then playing the performance back to reveal the titular theme.

With this year’s edition of Magpasikat, the week-long celebration airing from October 21 to October 25, the hosts gave one word to describe their performances with newcomer Jackie Gonzaga fiercely stated “mabangis,” while Jugueta gave a contrasting answer with “cute,” adding that he is not expecting to win the competition.

Introduced as host just last March, Darren Espanto credited “It’s Showtime” for the “change of trajectory” for his career, citing his start as a guest and eventual judge for Tawag ng Tanghalan.

“Parang naging parte na din ako ng ‘Showtime family throughout the years,” Espanto said. “Parang lumaki na din ako dito sa ‘It’s Showtime.'”

Navarro also thanked former rival network GMA for eventually adopting the program, first on GTV and now on GMA 7.
