After weeks of silence, actress-host Kim Chiu has finally addressed the ongoing statements made by her ex-boyfriend, actor Xian Lim, regarding their breakup.

Chiu, who had previously refrained from commenting, spoke exclusively to ABS-CBN News to share her thoughts and express her desire to move on.

“Entering 2024, sabi ko talaga I just want a fresh start, new beginning and I don’t want to dwell sa past,” Chiu said, emphasizing her intention to leave the breakup behind and focus on her future.

Chiu had resolved not to discuss the breakup further, but persistent inquiries from the media and Lim’s continuous statements have pressured her to respond. In her recent interview, Chiu expressed her frustration with the ongoing discussions.

“Parang ‘yung post ko nung December sabi ko, this will be the last time na pag-uusapan ko ito. Pero parang ang dami pa rin. Parang hindi naman siya mapag-uusapan kung no one’s lighting the fire,” she remarked, highlighting her frustration with the continued attention on their past relationship.

Chiu and Lim ended their 12-year relationship shortly before Christmas last year. At the time, Chiu confirmed the split, describing it as a mutual decision to transition into a lifelong friendship.

Recently, Chiu cleaned up her Instagram account, deleting past photos of her with Lim, signaling her intent to move forward.

Chiu expressed her hope that Lim would stop making statements about their past relationship. “It ended, the journey was beautiful. Ayaw ko nang maging masama ‘yung loob ko,” she said, her voice tinged with emotion.

On the verge of tears, Chiu pleaded for an end to the repeated discussions about their breakup. “Kasi paulit-ulit na lang. Let’s give it a rest and let’s leave respect to each other,” she concluded.
