Ladies can learn a thing or two from Ian Veneracion’s wife
Ian Veneracion reveals the endearing traits of Pam Gallardo, his wife of 20 years and the mother of his three children.
If your husband is as good-looking as Ian Veneracion, a lot of girls would want to catch his attention.
At his launch as the endorser of ConZace, he admitted himself, “Siyempre, kasama na rin siguro sa showbiz, nandiyan yung temptation.
“Ang dami nating kasamang magagandang women.”
But the actor, he said, is “immune” to girls.
Laughing, the guy who practically grew up in showbiz said, “So far, okay pa naman ako. Pero of course, I’ve been working on it. E, tao rin naman tayo.
“So far, okay pa naman…okay pa, still in a good place.”
How about his wife Pam Gallardo?
“Hindi siya selosa ever since. And kung magseselos man, hindi niya ipapakita sa akin. She’s too proud para ipakita sa akin, and I love her for that.”
The mother of his three children is not the nosy type.
“Hindi siya yung magtatanong, ‘Where are you?’”
Sometimes, Ian would even ask her, “Hindi ka ba magtatanong kung anong oras akong uuwi?”
But she won’t. Never.
“Ako yung kinakabahan pag tahimik lang…Mas nakakatakot yung ganun e na hindi magtatanong.”
But staying out of each other’s lakad must be working for them, Ian proudly said, “We’ve been married for 20 years.”
FINANCE MANAGER. Even when he asks for money, and meets up with friends, “Wala siyang question. She doesn’t ask, ‘Para saan ito?’”
Pam, however, is assured Ian won’t do anything hanky-panky, and, partly, it’s because of their financial set-up.
Smiling, Ian said, “Wala akong budget ng kabit. Saka sa akin, gusto ko she manages my finances.”
The A Love To Last star gives all his fees to his wife.
“Kasi kung hindi ko iyan paiikutin, wala, parang baldeng butas yun.
“Hindi ako businessman, it’s her business,” he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The latter’s reporter Marinel Cruz asked him to elaborate on what Pam does.
“Engineer kasi siya. She does construction for water lines, sewer lines. My money is her money.
“Oo, diretso [suweldo]. ‘Tapos ako, ako nagtatanong sa kanya, kunwari may gusto akong bilhin na gitara o motor or ano, tinatanong ko siya, ‘Can I afford this?’
“Sasabihin niya, ‘Puwede naman.’ O kaya sasabihin niya, ‘In two months you can afford that.’
“I’m happy. She’s really good at it.”
For his expenses, does he have an allowance?
“On a daily basis…nagpapa-withdraw ako.
“Hindi ako nagpupunta sa bangko. Ayokong nag-i-ATM so minsan, pa-withdraw ako ng ganitong [amount]… magpa-park ka, kailangan mo mag-picture.”
Ian quickly clarified he doesn’t mind the picture-taking.
“I enjoy that pag may mga okasyon na ganyan…There’s a time for every thing.”
Going back to his allowance, “Sometimes, hindi nagagamit. The whole week, hindi nababawasan.”
He only uses it for gas and if “hindi mo gusto yung food sa set.”
