The Sheikh Zayed Misdemeanor Court sentenced a driver of a famous smart transportation company to one year in prison and a bail of 1,000 pounds per year after he was accused of harassing the artist, Hala El-Saeed.

The artist, Hala Al-Saeed, posted a video clip from the Dabaa axis, in which she claimed that a driver from the company committed indecent acts while she was riding with him, which prompted her to get out of the car.

Hala posted a video on Instagram in which she said: “I am currently on Dabaa axis, and I was riding, and I found the driver stopping the car and getting out of it and telling me that it had overheated. He came and looked behind me and I found him unbuckling my pants belt and I got out of the car quickly, and he told me, ‘Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I have diabetes and I have to go to the bathroom every now and then.’”

Al-Saeed continued: “I got out of the car and left my bag, and thank God I was talking on the phone before the car stopped, and I called one of my friends and told him that I sent him a live location, and this is what made the driver afraid, thank God.”

Security services confirmed the incident.

The security services were able to uncover the circumstances of the incident and said in a statement that the security follow-up monitored what was circulated on Instagram regarding a woman being harmed by a car driver she had requested through one of the smart transportation applications, as he committed indecent acts while she was riding in the car with him.

After the examination, the car and its driver (driver – resident in Cairo) were identified and seized. It was found that the accused was actually with the complainant in the car and while driving, he stopped on the side of the road to relieve himself, but the aforementioned woman got out of the car believing that he had harassed her. The necessary legal measures were taken.

Hala El-Saeed published a new video clip in which she expressed her joy after the ruling against her.
