Egyptian artist Amr Diab was subjected to a wave of sharp criticism on social media, after a video spread in which he appears to be slapping a fan during a wedding.

The video shows one of the attendees trying to approach Diab to take a selfie, only for the sixty-year-old artist to slap him forcefully in the face, which aroused the surprise and dismay of many viewers.

This incident was not the first of its kind, as the Egyptian artist had previously been criticized for similar actions. Earlier, Diab insulted his private driver, and in another incident, he hit a sound engineer on stage, which caused his reputation to be greatly damaged.

After the recent incident, social media witnessed a scathing attack on Diab, with some describing him as “lack of politeness,” while others considered him suffering from “a state of dementia.”

The public reacted widely to the incident, with many criticizing Diab’s actions and considering them inappropriate for an artist of this size and stature.
