The former Manchester United striker is reportedly keen to bring one of Erik ten Hag’s players to AC Milan.

A Manchester United player has attracted interest from one of Europe’s biggest clubs – who want to sign him at “all costs”.

United have problems of their own at the moment. Erik ten Hag’s future is constantly the subject of speculation.

The Red Devils are currently on a torrid run of five games without a win, following a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday.

A player who will be associated with the ‘Ten-Hag era’ is attracting interest from one of Europe’s biggest clubs after falling out of favour with the Dutch manager.

One man who did taste relative success during his short time at Old Trafford was Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede is keen to bring in one of United’s defenders at “all costs”.

AC Milan, who Ibra acts as an advisor for, are reportedly interested in signing centre-back Victor Lindelof.

The 30-year-old signed for United in 2017 in a deal reported to be worth around £31m after impressing for Portuguese side Benfica.

The defender showed early promise in a United shirt, but several injuries halted his progress.

Ten Hag tinkered with United’s defence during Sunday’s game, picking Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans over new man Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

After the game, Ten Hag explained his decision, but there was no mention of Lindelof.

“Rotation. We have loads of games. We have to rotate the team, the freshness, and I think it was a good decision today. I think the performances from Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans, they were very solid.

“But, also, I think Matthijs de Ligt came in at half-time and was very solid,” explained Ten Hag when questioned on his defensive selection.

“Of course, you take everything into consideration, but [there were] more reasons. Then you have to change the back four totally, that is one. And Jonny Evans, I didn’t know if he could come to an end, and I [would] have to sub again. So, yeah, [it’s] always [about] consideration. One for one, for me, was the best idea,” he added.

As a result, it would be safe to assume Lindelof is currently the fifth-choice centre-back at Old Trafford.

The Swede did play 45 minutes at Villa Park, but his future looks set to be away from United.

During the summer transfer window, several clubs were linked with the player. Inter Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina were said to be keen, but no such deal materialised.

Lindelof’s contract is set to expire this summer, with no new contract on the table, according to reports.

From January, the defender will be able to speak to new clubs and be able to sign a ‘pre-contract agreement’ if he wishes.
