Vice Ganda can’t contain her tears of joy following the announcement of Ryan Bang’s engagement to non-showbiz girlfriend Paola Huyong: “Wala talaga akong kakaba-kaba, dahil alam ko namang magye-yes si Paola. Walang tatanggi kay Ryan dahil hindi ka katanggi-tanggi.”

Vice Ganda can’t contain her tears of joy following the announcement of Ryan Bang‘s engagement to non-showbiz girlfriend Paola Huyong.

Earlier today, June 29, 2024, Ryan confirmed the happy news through a joint Instagram post with his fiancée.

Along with a short but sweet caption that reads “God is good [diamond ring emoji],” is a carousel of photos capturing the heartwarming moments of Ryan’s proposal to Paola.

IT’S SHOWTIME FAMILY CONGRATULATES RYAN

As expected, Ryan’s exciting milestone did not go unnoticed on today’s episode of It’s Showtime, where he hosts alongside Kapamilya heavyweights Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, and of course his showbiz mommy, Vice Ganda.

Right off the bat, the South Korean comedian and the Unkabogable Star snuggled up in a tight embrace as they bawled their eyes out.

Vice Ganda, who treats Ryan as her baby boy, jokes about having her eyelashes stuck to Ryan’s shirt due to the very emotional moment.

She even adds amusingly: “Ang tagal naming nag-yakap tapos iyak lang kami ng iyak, tas pagbitaw namin, sabi ko, ‘Anong gown ko?’”

In all seriousness, Ryan says, “Kuya Vhong, nung nag yes si Paola sakin, tinawagan ko agad si mommy [Vice Ganda], nag-Facetime kami, nag-iyakan kami. Thank you mommy.”

Vice follows up the revelation by mentioning her inexplicable reaction: “Kausap ko yung nanay at tatay ni Paola, di ako makapag-[inaudible] kasi iyak ako ng iyak.

“Tas feeling ko talaga ang pangit pangit ko.”

Expressing her admiration for Ryan, Vice also relates, “Sobra akong napa-proud sa kanya at tsaka lagi kong sinasabi sakanya everyday, sabi ko, ‘Ang gwapo-gwapo mo lalo araw-araw.’

“Tapos isang beses, nung nandito si Paola last week, sabi ko ‘Uy salamat ha, magmula nung maging girlfriend ka ni Ryan, parang di na napigil yung kagwapuhan niya. Lumabas na ng lumabas.’

“From a baby to man, di ba? Parang naging lalaking-lalaki, nag-mature, tas ang gwapo-gwapo. Lumabas yung kagandahang tao niya lalo,” she explains.

RYAN SEEKS VICE GANDA’S APPROVAL

What’s even more telling about the close bond that Ryan and Vice share is how she became the first person to be notified of his plan to propose.

“Tas sobra akong na-touch kasi ako yung una niyang sinabihan,” Vice recalls.

“Sabi niya, ‘Wala akong ibang pinagsasabihan kahit nanay at tatay ko. Sayo ako nagpaalam.’”

Ryan seconds this, saying, “Siyempre, gusto ko ikaw ang una nakakaalam.”

Pulling his leg again, Vice remarks, “Ano kaya kung di kita pinayagan? Ano kaya nangyari sa inyo?”

After everyone hushed down from laughing, Vice admits: “Pero wala talaga akong kakaba-kaba, dahil alam ko namang magye-yes si Paola.

“Walang tatanggi kay Ryan dahil hindi ka katanggi-tanggi. Wala akong nakikitang katanggi-tanggi sayo. Napakaganda mong tao.

“Masuwerte kayong dalawa ni Paola sa isa’t isa,” she emphasizes.

On Ryan’s end, he thanks his showbiz mommy, telling her: “Mommy thank you. You allowed me to propose to Paola at thank you pinalaki mo ako sobrang buti.

“Maraming maraming salamat ma, I love you so much.”

Concluding the segment on a much lighter note, Vice highlights the role of the ‘madlang pipol’ in turning the celebration up a notch.

“At tsaka kasama yung madlang pipol diyan sa kuwento mo na yan. Di ba baby ka ng lahat ng madlang pipol,” she says.

Karylle agrees, adding: “Totoo yan, nung nagka negosyo, nagdiwang din sila.”

Vice affirms, “Every madlang pipol, especially the solid Showtimers, every solid showtimer is celebrating with you right now.

“Lahat sila a-attend sa kasal mo, sasabihin ko talaga sa kanila yung venue. Ipo-post ko,” sending everyone into a fit of laughter.

Ryan Bang first revealed his relationship status on August 29, 2023, when he announced to ‘madlang pipol’ on It’s Showtime that he is already taken.

“Gusto kong sabihin sa aking [It’s] Showtime family, sa harap ninyo, Mommy, Daddy, kay Kuya ko, ate ko, Tyang, may girlfriend na ako.

“Sobra kong saya kasi ang tagal kong naging single ‘tapos ngayon may girlfriend na ako.”
