What Thomas Tuchel previously said about Marcus Rashford has resurfaced following links that the former Chelsea manager will replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

There was even more pressure added to Ten Hag’s shoulders over the weekend following another display without a goal from his side.

While a point away to Aston Villa is certainly a respectable one given the current circumstances, it was the manner of the display that worried United fans.

Ten Hag appears to have escaped the sack for now despite United’s disastrous start to the season, however, according to the Manchester Evening News United are considering an approach for Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties as Bayern Munich manager last season and has previously stated his love for the Premier League as he felt ‘appreciated’ during his time at Chelsea.

No matter who the manager is at Old Trafford, one of the top priorities is getting the best out of Marcus Rashford, and Tuchel has already demonstrated his admiration for the United winger.

Speaking while he was at PSG, Tuchel revealed exactly what he loves about the England international.

“We value him a lot more when he’s playing in England and not in Parc des Princes honestly because it can get a little bit annoying with him,” Tuchel joked.

The German first dived into the 26-year-old’s character, explaining that his temperament and personality is a major factor in his overall ability.

“The guy is a very young adult who takes his responsibility off and on the pitch which is honestly very impressive,” he continued.

“I’ve met him three times as an opponent and I meet a calm guy, I meet a humble guy which is amazing because I like this mixture a lot.”

Tuchel also praised Rashford for his ability on the pitch, claiming his pace and ball-striking ability are his most valuable asset.

“On a sporting side, it is clear he is a big threat with his speed and his ability to score with his precision in finishing and his determination and his quality.”

“He is so precise with his finishing both outside and inside the box, he is super rapid on counterattacks and is strong in the air from headers,” he concluded.

With Rashford still searching for his best form after his lackluster 23/24 season, the introduction of a manager like Tuchel could be the perfect way to spark his career back to life.
