A top journalist has revealed exactly how severe Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hamstring injury is and given details on when he is expected to return to the pitch.
Liverpool continued their impressive form under new manager Arne Slot on Saturday as they beat Aston Villa 2-0 in a Premier League clash at Anfield.
However, it wasn’t all positives in the match, as star defender Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the 25th minute due to an injury.
And now, the exact details of the injury have been revealed, including how many matches the Englishman is expected to miss for the Reds.
Posting on social media platform X, The Times reporter Paul Joyce wrote: “Trent Alexander-Arnold set to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Avoided more serious damage by coming off early against Aston Villa. Not ruled out of Southampton on Nov 24 ahead of Real Madrid [Nov 27] and Man City [Dec 1] games.”
The news will comes as a huge relief to Liverpool fans as it appears likely that the defender will be back in time for a tough period of fixtures that include a Champions League clash with Real Madrid, a top of the table Premier League match with Manchester City and the first Merseyside derby of the season against local rivals Everton.
However, the report claims that Liverpool are not prepared to take any risks with his return as he had already been playing through pain caused by a side strain sustained while representing England against Finland last month.
With that in mind, Alexander-Arnold will only return to the pitch once Liverpool are confident that he has 100% recovered from the hamstring injury.

The right back had already withdrawn from England duty on Monday before the extent of the injury was known.
Alexander-Arnold is not the only major star likely to miss international duty for England over the break, with Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice also reportedly likely to withdraw from the squad.
Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker are also expected to be absent for England, while Chelsea star Cole Palmer and Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon could miss out.
