Paul Pogba linked with outrageous transfer to two Premier League clubs outside the top six after terminating Juventus contract

Paul Pogba has been linked with a return to the Premier League after his contract with Juventus was terminated by mutual consent.

Paul Pogba has been linked with two shock Premier League clubs after his contract was Juventus was terminated by mutual consent.

Pogba returned to the Old Lady back in July, signed a four-year deal after leaving Manchester United upon the expiration of his contract.

But just over a year on and the Frenchman was hit with a doping suspension after testing positive for DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) – a compound which promotes the production of hormones in the body including testosterone.

He was initially hit with a four-year ban before the suspension was reduced to 18 months in October following an appeal. Pogba was earning around £6.9 million a year at Juventus before the salary was cut to around £2,000 a month as part of an arrangement between clubs and the players’ union.

On Friday Juventus confirmed his deal had been terminated, with Pogba leaving the club for a second time on 30 November.

He is expected to start training again in January before being allowed to return to the pitch in March. And according to Fichajes, both West Ham and Newcastle United are willing to take a risk on the 31-year-old and believe he could still be a useful addition.

There were brief suggestions that Pogba could be returning to United for training in a bid to improve his fitness but that has since been dismissed.

Though his wages could be a stumbling block, Pogba, available to play in early 2025, could be a shrewd signing for clubs chasing European football.

After his Juventus exit was announced, Pogba issued a statement and said he is looking forward to the next stage of his career.

“It has been a privilege to pull on the shirt of the Bianconeri and to share so many special moments together,” Pogba said.

“I cherish the memories we made. They live on.

“Even in the most difficult moments over the past year, your support was crucial and I want to thank Juve fans around the world for their compassion.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career and to stepping out on the pitch with my next club.”
