The situation surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s surprising omission from Didier Deschamps’ France squad has taken another shocking twist.

On Thursday, France manager Deschamps announced the squad for their upcoming matches against Israel and Italy in the Nations League.

The biggest shock came as captain and star player Mbappe was left out of the 23-man squad for the two fixtures, leading to speculation as to why exactly such a key player would miss out.

And now, the situation has taken a huge shock twist as a new report has potentially revealed exactly why Mbappe is absent while giving an update on his future with the French team.

According to a report from French journalist Romain Molina, the 25-year-old has decided that he no longer wants to play for France due to the current situation he finds himself in.

Mbappe has been excluded from two consecutive squads by Deschamps, suggesting that the talented Frenchman may have fallen out with the head coach.

The report states that as things stand, the Real Madrid forward’s relationship with Deschamps is in a difficult situation and he will not play again for him unless something changes.

Furthermore, it is reported that Mbappe and his mother, who works as his agent, feel that the French press are plotting against them and have therefore adopted an attitude of ‘us against the world.’

However, this seems to contradict what Deschamps himself said to the media when he announced the squad on Thursday.

Speaking immediately after the squad list was announced, the manager said: “What I can tell you are these two things; one, that Kylian wanted to come. And two, it’s not the extra sporting problems that come into play since the presumption of innocence exists and must exist.

Deschamps also confirmed that the decision not to include Mbappe was not related to allegations made by a Swedish newspaper claiming Mbappe had made a trip to the country during the previous international break.

The news comes as Mbappe has struggled to make a mark at new club Real Madrid, who he joined over the summer.

The striker has scored just eight goals in 15 appearances for Los Blancos, and has netted just once in the last six games.
