Graham Potter had a coy response to being asked about links to Manchester United during his appearance on Monday Night Football.
The former Chelsea, Brighton and Swansea boss joined Jamie Carragher on the Sky Sports show for coverage of Bournemouth’s 3-1 win over Southampton.
But in addition to analysis on an impressive win for the Cherries, Potter was quizzed on potentially returning to management.
He has not got back into the hotseat since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023.
Yet Potter has been linked with a host of different jobs, including the post at Manchester United.
After surviving the chop in the summer following an FA Cup final win over Manchester City, Erik ten Hag finds himself under huge pressure again after a dire start to the new campaign.
The humiliating 3-0 loss to Spurs leaves them 13th in the table and host Dave Jones asked him if he would enjoy the challenge of managing United, to which he quickly replied: “I am sitting here enjoying the challenge of answering your questions.”

Jones followed up by asking about speculation he was one of a number of managers to hold conversations with INEOS and United in the summer.
Yet he did at least give a bit more of an answer this time around, saying: “I take what the media say with a pinch of salt.
“I am the only coach in world football to be linked with Stoke City and Napoli in the same week.
“I have had lots of conversations with lots of people and I think out of respect to those people it’s best those are kept private.”
Links to the England job came up, leading to Potter joking: “I think it’s time for a commercial break, isn’t it?!.”
He did then say the England post is a “fantastic job”, praising the work from Gareth Southgate and throwing support behind Lee Carsley.

Potter explained: “As an Englishman, of course it’s a fantastic job and I’m supportive of FA and what they decide to do and whoever the next coach is.
“Gareth did a fantastic job and I’m sure Lee will in his time, however long that is.”
Potter has been enjoying spending time with family after a 12-year stint in management began in the fourth tier of Swedish football with Ostersunds.
