Bruno Fernandes has reacted to Scott McTominay’s form at Napoli after his departure from Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes has made his feelings clear on Scott McTominay’s move from Manchester United to Napoli with a post on Instagram.

The Red Devils allowed the Scotland international to leave for £25.4 million in the summer in a move that surprised many.

McTominay linked up with Antonio Conte and has already been a huge hit in Naples, scoring two goals in five games for the Serie A league leaders.

Media in Italy have been referring to him as Conte’s ‘Jolly’ – meaning in the pack of cards he is effectively the variable with he ability to upgrade a losing hand into a winning one.

He’s been a revelation at Napoli and Fernandes has reacted to his former teammate’s fine form.

The two came up against one another in the international stage recently when Portugal and Scotland played out a 0-0 draw.

And McTominay gave Fernandes a Napoli shirt with his name on the back, with the former Udinese midfielder proudly showing it off online.

He wrote: “@scottmctominay the name that’s conquered the heart of [sic] Napoli.”

After McTominay’s exit was announced, Erik ten Hag said he would have preferred to keep him at United but because of PSR rules, the sale of a homegrown player had to be sanctioned.

Many have said that United, currently 14th in the Premier League, will live to regret offloading McTominay but the player himself is evidently enjoying his new surroundings.

“My biggest dream as a person is to be happy,” McTominay said on his move, via Napoli’s official website.

“Happiness is the best thing in life, and that is the only thing I concentrate on: try to be happy, with my family, my friends, my girlfriend… when you have a smile on your face you play better at football as well.”

Napoli return to action on Sunday when they take on Empoli at Stadio Carlo Castellani.
