Amid speculations on It’s Showtime‘s status of renewal on GMA, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, GMA Network Senior Vice President, issued a statement regarding the matter.

The noontime show’s contract with GMA is set to expire this December.

“We are in the process of negotiations now for the renewal of Showtime,” the GMA executive said in a statement released by GMA Network on Friday, November 22.

It’s Showtime started airing on GMA’s main channel on April 6.

ABS-CBN and GMA inked the contract for the said partnership in March 2024.

“‘Di naman lingid sa kaalaman nating lahat kung gaano kasadsad ang isinadsad ng Kapamilya pero naririyan kayo, hindi para tapakan kami at saktan pa sa mga panahong sadsad na sadsad kami. Inialay niyo ang mga kamay niyo sa amin para unti-unti kaming makabangon,” Vice said in his heartwarming speech at the contract signing in March.

The comedian remarked that the collaboration would have “a very strong, massive, [and] transformative purpose.”

He went on: “At dahil sa pagsasama niyong dalawa, mas magiging madali iyon na makapagbigay tayo ng karagdagang tawa sa kanila, karagdagang saya, karagdagang impormasyon, karagdagang inspirasyon at pag-asa.”

Vice expressed his gratitude to the network for welcoming them.

“Maraming-marami salamat po sa pagpili sa amin… Halika na, magsanib pwersa na tayo para mapanalunan at mapagtagumpayan ang mas malalaking hamon,” he said.

It’s Showtime airs on GMA from Monday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Prior to airing on GMA, It’s Showtime first aired on GMA’s GTV channel.

The noontime program celebrated its anniversary for the first time on GMA last October.

“Very thankful kami. Lalo na at first time namin i-ce-celebrate ang ‘Magpasikat’ sa GMA, at 15th anniversary pa kasama ang mga Kapuso,” host Kim Chiu said in a press conference in October.

She added: “We’re very happy, we’re very lucky, and looking forward kami na mapanood ng lahat.”
