Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez has just won “The Voice USA”, a history that was realized after 26 seasons. The 32-year-old singer from Team Bublé won the competition after receiving the most number of votes.

Sofronio is the first Asian winner of “The Voice USA” and he will receive the grand prize of $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group. He is grateful for the mentorship of his coach Michael Bublé.

Renditions of Sia’s “Unstoppable” and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman during the finale round made him land on the top spot.

Proud of his team’s victory, Buble expressed, “Well, my Filipino brother, you are the hope of so many people. Not just in the Philippines, but Asians everywhere truly are looking at you tonight. So proud.”

He was born and raised in Northern Mindanao in the Philippines. He is now 32 years old and growing up, they did not have a house with a bed or indoor plumbing but his childhood was nothing short of blissful, thanks to music that brought his family together.

The moments of singing with his father are his cherished memory and something that inspired his journey in singing.

In 2019, Vasquez competed in the Tawag ng Tanghalan singing competition. He was first known in this competition and reached the semifinals, ranking in third place. Sofronio is famous on Kumu and was awarded Kumu Diamond Award in 2021 as one of its most-watched streamers.

He also won several Kumu-hosted singing competitions, including Sing-it-OffRaise Your VoiceSinging Royals, and Ang Galing Mo.

Apart from singing, he also has a passion for dentistry. He studied Dental Medicine at Misamis University in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. While studying, he found within him a feeling to give music a second chance after his father suddenly passed away in 2022. He wants to make his father proud and he decided to move to the US to finally achieve his stardom dreams.
