SHOCK: Nora Aunor shares in tears that she wants a happy reunion with her children and grandchildren but that is a luxury

Even though it’s not that lavish, Superstar Nora Aunor is happy because her children and grandchildren welcomed and celebrated Christmas with her.

“Guy was the happiest person last night!” Glenda Kennedy informed PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), on the afternoon of December 25.

Guy is also Nora’s name.

Glenda became Ate Guy’s best friend from San Francisco, USA. She celebrated Christmas Eve and  Noche Buena  at the singer-actress’ Eastwood condo unit.

“Am so happy for her and I’m so proud of her children and grand kids!

“They are all very nice and very respectful! What a beautiful family they have!” kuwento pa ni Glenda.

As Glenda happily tells her story, Ate Guy calls her “Manay” Glenda, or Manay Gee, like  Super Gee , Nora’s 1973 action trilogy.

“I had goose bumps as I watched Ate Guy and her kids share the happy occasion—laughing and loving each other!”

A few weeks before Christmas, Nora was eagerly awaiting this celebration, which would be with the whole family.

THE WISH WAS FULFILLED.  And his wish came true.

“I’m happy because it’s my first time here to spend Christmas again, with my family,” said Ate Guy when PEP spoke to him on the day he was decorating his unit himself.

Two times before Christmas, PEP spoke to Ate Guy again.

First, when Boy Abunda interviewed her for Cinema One’s  Most Fascinating, Interesting and Exciting (FIE) People  interview-feature, where Ms. Aunor topped the poll.

The interview-feature began airing on Skycable’s Cinema One channel on December 23.

Next, on December 15, Ate Guy was a guest on German Moreno’s show, on Channel 7,  Walang Tulugan With The Master Showman.

The episode is set to air on New Year’s Eve, and in it, Nora reunites with her former leading man Cocoy Laurel.

They worked together in the films  Lollipops & Roses (1971),  Impossible Dream  (1972), and  Lollipops & Roses… At Burong Talangka  (1975) .

AFTER EIGHT YEARS.  Ate Guy often talks about the upcoming Christmas celebration, with his children and grandchildren.

“First time, in years!” Nora said.

He said that in the past, they would spend Christmas in the States happily and sadly because he missed his children.

“In the States before, we were happy too, but only for a short while, because we were far from family,” said Ate Guy, whose friends celebrating Christmas in the States were John Rendez and a few close friends.

“Oh, our Christmas tree over there, taller… and whiter!” Ate Guy continued to tell the story.

NORA, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.  Here, even though Nora has an ordinary Christmas tree of medium height, about six feet, in her condo, her happiness has not been ordinary because she considers her family complete.

“Oh, there’s nothing as fun as that!” Manay Glenda continued to say.

“All his children were there. Lotlot [de Leon] was accompanied by his four children, Janine, Jessica, Diego, and Maxine.

“Matet [de Leon-Estrada] was accompanied by his wife Mickey and their two children, Mishka and Mikka.

“Even Ramoncito [Ramon Christopher Gutierrez, Lolot’s ex-husband] was there.

“But, he arrived past midnight and didn’t catch up with Lotlot,” Glenda continued.

John Rendez was also there. But, as John said in his last interview with PEP, he distances himself when Nora’s children are there out of respect.

Besides, only Kiko—Kenneth Isaac, another adopted son of Nora—was absent from the celebration.

Kiko is the one who often accompanies Nora when she visits Buboy.

Buboy is Eddie Villamayor, Nora’s brother who is in a rehab/retreat house in an out-of-town area.

“Ian arrived without Jen. He said he was going to see Jen after the party,” Glenda said.

Ian is Kristoffer, Nora’s only biological child with her ex-husband Christopher de Leon. The Jen mentioned is Jennifer Orcine, Ian’s non-showbiz girlfriend.

Glenda continued, “Guy didn’t cook anything, he just ordered food from Italianni’s. I brought dessert, chocolate cake and food for the gods.

“And Matet brought an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen!”

A SIMPLER CHRISTMAS.  Unlike before when Nora had a bunch of giveaways, parties, and raffles for the showbiz press, the superstar doesn’t have that kind of showmanship now.

“She felt it wasn’t the right time,” said Boy Palma, Nora’s personal manager who also arrived at Nora’s condo.

Amidst the hardships and calamities in our country, Ate Guy avoided showing off, although he also didn’t forget about his little Christmas present for his showbiz friends.

And at least Ate Guy didn’t miss out on financial assistance, such as the relief operations of the TV5 Foundation, which he no longer advertises.

THROAT OPERATION.  Preparing for his departure to the US on January 5, for surgery on his throat and repair of his vocal chords, is the superstar’s current priority.

Also important, Nora was able to spend time with her children, whom Glenda said she saw growing up to be kind.

“She [Nora] said, ‘Because they grew up with my teachings. I don’t let them get away with it when they do something wrong.’

“I call them all to a meeting, including the innocent ones, and there I explain right and wrong!”

“That’s all. You can see and feel his joy and excitement, even though he doesn’t speak,” Glenda also observed.

Although the living room of the condo unit is small, Glenda also said, “We all fit in, because they brought stackable chairs.

“No one stayed in Guy’s bedroom, so we were even happier, because we were together and laughing at the same time!

“Guy’s children are like his siblings and friends because they are always there for him!”

“Our stomachs hurt from laughing, especially since Ian wouldn’t stop tickling her.

“To get Ian to stop, Guy would scream loudly and act like he was the Incredible Hulk. ‘Then, Ian would imitate him too.

“It’s so fun to watch those scenes!

“Guy really misses those bonding moments they had when he wasn’t back here!”

“I felt so privileged naman for having witnessed a very special and endearing moment of my best friend, with her loving children and grandchildren!

“I’ve never seen my friend that happy before!

“I had tears in my eyes watching them, kasi I was also feeling very happy for Guy and for all of them!
