Prince Harry showed his true colours on solo trip around the world without Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has been travelling the world solo over the past two weeks, and a royal expert has now shared the reason he has been appearing more comfortable during the travels.

Prince Harry has been jet-setting from New York to London and then Johannesburg while his wife, Meghan Markle, stays at home with their two children; Archie and Lilibet. The Duke of Sussex’s solo global travels have included attending the WellChild Awards in the UK and working for his charity organisation Sentebale in South Africa, leading many to suggest that he seems to be reverting back to his old Royal habits.

Some observers have noted that Harry appears more self-assured when alone than during recent US appearances with Meghan. But BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes it’s a matter of familiarity for the prince. She said: “I think anyone would feel more comfortable in a situation that they’ve been accustomed to and Harry has been championing the WellChild awards for some 16 years. So, of course, he looked more relaxed in that environment than in the still, somewhat, alien surroundings of La La Land,” reports OK!.

Former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond explained that Harry is simply confident because he is doing work he’s familiar with, rather than it being a reflection of Meghan

Continuing her thoughts, Jennie expressed that it’s not about whether Harry is acting like a celebrity or a royal, but rather about being in an environment he’s more familiar with. She added: “I don’t think it’s got anything to do with being royal or not royal. It’s simply a question of an environment you are more used to. Maybe we should stop analysing every gesture and every tie stroke and just appreciate that he is a man trying to use his position to do some good in the world.”

Despite swirling rumours that Harry and Meghan are leading ‘separate lives’ because of their independent pursuits and recent reports the Duke spent his 40th birthday with friends rather than family, Royal commentator Jennie has come forward to quash those claims. Explaining Harry’s recent travel strategy, she points out its benefits for his young family: “Maybe it’s better for his kids as well, for him to disappear for a fortnight and then be at home – rather than lots of comings and goings,” Jennie remarked.

She went on to say: “Harry is box office. He’s always had a way with people and crowds and it’s lovely to see him coming into his own with charities and causes that he became involved with many years ago. Married couples don’t have to do everything together.

Jennie concluded: “The children are young and it’s much better for them to have one parent at home, so it all makes perfect sense. It’s just Harry doing what Harry does best.”
