Kris Aquino ‘Cancer-Free’ Pero ‘Life-Threatening’ Ang 3 Autoimmune Conditions

Yesterday, Kris Aquino gave an update on his health. He hasn’t given news for a long time because he had a hard time accepting his situation, but now he has to face what he calls his ‘new reality.’

He underwent many tests, including a PET scan, which is usually done to make sure there is no cancer. This was performed after a tedious chest CT scan, as well as an examination of part of his face to check his breathing and sinus passages. This was due to her constant headaches and never-ending colds.

The next day, his gastroenterologist said he needed to start the process for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. According to the doctor, “The abdominal area, specifically my colon area lit up.”  Despite her courage, she couldn’t stop crying after the doctor left.

An oncologist, related to her family, stepped in and provided a surreal experience for her. We know that his mother, former President Cory Aquino, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and so was his grandmother.

The hardest part for him was to inform Bimb, who was sleeping on the small sofa, of the possibilities. He finds it hard to see his son asking questions and trying to be strong.

He admitted that he was really sick of drinks like Pocari and Gatorade, as well as the Surelax and castor oil he had to take before 10pm via an IV drip to prevent dehydration.

However, there is Dr. Mike, a surgeon, who visited her immediately after her operation. It tells him not to worry because many people already know about his situation.

Eleven he received good news from his doctor, Dr. Jonnel: he is cancer-free. “Clear intestines. No visible signs of cancer,” said the doctor.

But there is bad news too. He has five, possibly six, autoimmune conditions. What is worrying is that three of them are life-threatening and can damage his vital organs or blood vessels.

Some of the conditions include “Churg Strauss now known as HGPS, a rare form of vasculitis; Systemic Sclerosis or SCLERODERMA; and LUPUS or SLE, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.”

Although there are challenges with his health, Kris is determined to face his situation and continue to fight for his health and his family.
