EXCLUSIVE: Kim Chiu to Xian Lim: ‘Let’s leave respect to each other’

The past few days and weeks, Xian Lim has been asked and has been giving statements about his past relationship with Kim Chiu. On the other hand, Chiu has been consistently silent and avoiding answering questions from the press about the breakup.

Speaking exclusively to ABS-CBN News, Chiu said she has had enough.

“Entering 2024, sabi ko talaga I just want a fresh start, new beginning and I don’t want to dwell sa past,” she said.

She promised herself not to talk about the breakup. ABS-CBN News has been persistent in getting Chiu’s reaction to some of Lim’s interviews but no to avail. Until today, Chiu finally granted our request and gave her reaction to her ex’s recent interviews and statements.

“It’s like my post in December I said, this will be the last time I will talk about this. But it still seems like a lot. It’s like we can’t talk about him if no one’s lighting the fire,” she said.

Chiu and Lim lasted for 12 years. The actress confirmed the break-up a few days before Christmas last year, saying, “It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship.”

Recently, Chiu cleaned up her Instagram account and deleted past photos of her with Lim.

Chiu hopes her ex-boyfriend would already refrain from giving statements about their past relationship. “It ended, the journey was beautiful. Ayaw ko nang maging masama ‘yung loob ko,” she said.

On the verge of crying, Chiu said: “Kasi paulit-ulit na lang. Let’s give it a rest and let’s leave respect to each other.”
