KC Concepcion explains why she unfollowed her family on social media

Actress KC Concepcion answered why she unfollowed her stepfather Kiko Pangilinan and her half-sister Frankie on the social media platform Instagram. Netizens took notice of this change of which she explained in an interview with veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin.

KC shared that there’s nothing wrong with unfollowing someone on social media. She maintained that she wants nothing else but to be happy.

“Hindi naman po masama na magkaroon ng time na meron kayong ina-unfollow, or meron kayong ipa-follow. Mahirap lang po talaga kapag showbiz po yung family, talagang lahat po pinupuna po,” she said.

The former Kapamilya actress admitted that things get complicated in blended families such as hers. Apart from Frankie, Miel, and Miguel, she has two other half-siblings on her father’s side––Garie and Cloie.

“Ako kasi, I think, yung sa akin is more of, like I said, may mga complicated po talaga pagdating sa blended family…Meron din po talagang mga times na hindi perfect, hindi po kami perpekto. And hindi po lagi kailangang perfect,” she added.

KC didn’t elaborate on what transpired as to why she had to unfollow her family on social media. She just hinted that she would rather choose her “peace of mind” above all else––away from all the drama.

“Ang gusto ko lang maging light, masaya, ayoko ng maraming drama, ayoko ng maraming hindi… yung forgiveness kasi sa family, important din yun siguro para maging okay yung takbo ng relationship ng lahat. And sometimes, mas gusto kong piliin yung peace of mind ko,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Asian Persuasion actress also stated in the same interview that people need to work together for a relationship to work. She didn’t mention any specific name but mentioned her previous vlog.

“Lagi kong sinasabi nung sa vlog ko po, no, yung vlog ko sa Father’s Day, ang sabi ko lagi is, ‘Important na ang dalawang tao sa isang relasyon to work together to make it a good relationship,’” she said.

She previously celebrated Father’s day by honoring both of her dads––Gabby Concepcion and Kiko Pangilinan. The actress wrote how thankful she is for the former senator for being “present” in her milestones.

“Thank you for being present in so many of my milestones in life since you came into my world and married mom,” she previously wrote.
