Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu Celebrate Collaboration in Secretary Kim

A photo of actors Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu in a seemingly romantic moment has sparked a flurry of online speculation about a possible proposal.

In the viral image shared by the Facebook page PW Star Today, Avelino is shown kneeling on one knee before Chiu, who appears visibly surprised with her hands over her mouth. The setting—a beautifully lit pathway with fireworks in the background—gives the scene an air of romance, with fans eagerly interpreting it as a real-life engagement.

According to the Facebook post, this “proposal” reportedly happened at a gathering among Chiu’s friends and fans and was described as a heartfelt moment as Paulo allegedly presented a ring to the actress.

“This unexpected proposal took place at a beautifully decorated venue filled with soft lights and floral arrangements,” the post claimed, suggesting an intimate ambiance designed to capture the actress’s heart.

‘KimPau’ Fans React to Viral Proposal Scene

The Facebook post quickly gained traction, amassing over 10,000 reactions, hundreds of comments, and more than 100 shares. Comments ranged from congratulatory messages to fans expressing joy for the potential couple. “Congrats, Kim and Pau!” one user wrote, while another added, “May you both find happiness together.”

However, more discerning fans pointed out that the image was likely a scene from Avelino and Chiu’s romantic-comedy series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, a Filipino adaptation of the popular South Korean drama.

The scene, part of an episode aired on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel in July, shows Paulo’s character, Brandon Castillo, making a grand proposal to Kim’s character, Secretary Kim Liwanag, in a scene straight out of a romance movie.

Fiction Blends With Reality as Onscreen Chemistry Sparks Rumors

While fans continue to speculate on the status of their real-life relationship, neither Chiu nor Avelino has confirmed a romantic connection beyond the screen. Actor Jake Cuenca, a close friend of Avelino, fueled the rumors recently by sharing that the pair seemed “very good for each other” during the series’ filming, hinting at a strong bond.

Despite the swirling rumors, it remains to be seen whether “KimPau,” as fans fondly call them, will confirm a relationship beyond their on-screen roles.
