Grown-up ‘Bulilit’: Igi Boy Flores marks 23 years with Star Magic

“Make people happy.” This was Igi Boy Flores’ remark as he received on Sunday (November 19) a 23-year loyalty award from ABS-CBN talent agency Star Magic.

Flores first rose to prominence when he was cast as an original member of kiddie gag show “Goin’ Bulilit” in 2005 together with fellow child actors Jane Oineza, Miles Ocampo, Nash Aguas, and Sharlene San Pedro, among others.

He then shifted to more serious and coming-of-age teen roles as he landed projects in primetime teleseryes and episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

The record consists of 10 songs, including the title track.

The music video for “Call Back,” unveiled alongside the album, depicts the 32-year-old idol in a series of nighttime scenes, including walking through traffic, riding a motorcycle, and dancing in the middle of the street.

The artist born Choi Min-ho entered the K-pop industry in 2008 as a member of SHINee, known for hit songs like “Replay,” “Ring Ding Dong” and “Lucifer.” He eventually debuted as a soloist in 2022 with the extended play “Chase.”

Outside of music, Minho has also starred in several K-dramas, including “To the Beautiful You,” “Hwarang” and most recently, “Romance in the House.”

The package consists of six tracks, with “Over the Moon” serving as the lead single.

The music video for “Over the Moon” features the members in various settings, interspersed with scenes of them dancing together to the song’s dreamy melodies and upbeat rhythm at a parking lot at night and inside an event hall.

“The Star Chapter: Sanctuary” marks TXT’s first new release in over seven months, following the EP “minisode 3: Tomorrow” in April.

The release also follows the encore concerts of the quintet’s “Act: Promise” world tour in Seoul over the weekend.

Debuting in March 2019, TXT — comprised of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai — is managed by BigHit Music, the HYBE sub-label that also represents K-pop supergroup BTS.

TXT has seen significant commercial success, ranking among the 10 best-selling artists worldwide in 2023, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. In the same year, it also became the first K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, a popular US music festival.
