Nora Aunor talks about her failed marriage with Christopher de Leon: “If I hadn’t done this at that time, we probably wouldn’t have divorced”

Nora Aunor on failed marriage with Christopher de Leon: “If I hadn’t been so stubborn, we wouldn’t have broken up.”

Nora also reveals she and Boyet still dated after their separation.
In a recent conversation with Superstar Nora Aunor, she admitted it was her fault that her marriage with actor Christopher de Leon did not work. PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) once again visited the set of the TV5 mini-series  Sa Ngalan ng Ina  last Wednesday, September 7. And again we interviewed the star of the drama series, Nora Aunor.

From Taal, Batangas (from August 22 to September 2) and Bosoboso, Antipolo City (last September 5), Nora and co-actors, with Director Mario O’Hara and staff, taped all day long until past midnight (on September 8) at the Salve Regina General Hospital in Marikina City.

Ate Guy’s call time was still early so he got home earlier, before midnight.

Most of the scenes filmed were between Alwyn Uytingco and Edgar Allan Guzman. However, there were also scenes between Nora and her son Ian de Leon, whom PEP found in the afternoon messing around with his mom.

Before the dinner break, we first interviewed Ian, with Ate Guy, in the same room, who was talking to someone else.

But the actor also talks exclusively about Nora and Christopher de Leon, Ian’s dad.

At one point, Nora was happy to mention that her son Ian had a crush on Lorna Tolentino when he was young.

It was mentioned in the conversation that Lorna would be moving to TV5.

“He [Ian] was still very young then, but he already had a crush,” the Superstar happily recalls.

He also said he thought, “My son wants another artist!”

But Ian, on the other hand, is constantly “getting back” from his mom.

Like, I’ll really make Ate Guy hear, “I’m Mommy’s, I’m a loyalist, huh!’ Or, “I’m proud of both my parents…’

Regarding being “naughty” like his dad, Ian said, “I don’t wonder where I get my naughtiness… Mommy, I love her so much!”

And Guy’s actor-son laughed out loud.

Nora just laughs, who’s pleased with Ian’s words. “I know that. No need to say that. I can feel it, you know.”

HAPPY WITH TV5.  With TV5 treating her well and well, there is no reason for Nora not to be happy.

He is very vocal in saying this, each time he talks to someone in the media, like PEP.

“They are a different breed of caregiver,” said Nora, who is especially happy when someone prepares her special dishes, such as Bicol express and ginataang santol, which are her favorites.

FIRST BOLD ROLE.  What other roles would he like to play?

“As usual… bold!” said Ate Guy in his usual joking tone.

“But you don’t know, I was the first to dare… in  Banaue !”

Banaue  (1975) is the classic film by National  Artist for Film Gerry de Leon. It was the first collaboration between Nora and Christopher.

“My hair is the only thing covering [my chest]… I was the first to go bold!” joked Ate Guy, referring to her costume in the epic masterpiece about the legend of the world-famous Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao.

YUL SERVO AND OTHER GUESTS.  Aside from the press who were interviewing, male celebrities from TV5 also visited the set of  Sa Ngalan ng Ina  to briefly chat with Nora Aunor.

Like Manila Councilor Yul Servo, who starred alongside Ate Guy in the movie  Naglalayag  (2004).

Yul was accompanied by his co-star in  Bangis , young actor Rodjun Cruz.

Early evening when Yul and Rodjun arrived.

“Ate Guy, they say they will pay homage to you,” said Ms. Jo-Ann Banaga, supervising producer of  Sa Ngalan ng Ina  and  Bangis .

Ate Guy was very happy to see Yul. He introduced her to Rodjun and they exchanged greetings for a while, taking pictures.

“Oh, his [Yul] eyes are still wide open.

“I really like him, he’s a great actor. And he’s a very kind kid,” Nora said about Yul .

In the film, it appears that Yul is Nora’s latest leading man, so far.

“It’s funny. He said, ‘Ate Guy, I won three awards there…’ He’s really good,’” Nora also mentioned.

As for  Sa Ngalan ng Ina ‘s cast, Nora mentioned her new young co-actors, Alwyn Uytingco and Edgar Allan Guzman, as the most promising and standout among the newcomers she has worked with.

“Good and hardworking, disciplined,” said Nora.

ABOUT PAPA BOYET.  During  the SNNI  taping in Bosoboso, Antipolo City, the previous day (September 5), many scenes were filmed with Nora and Christopher.

The unit directors and technical staff of Mario O’Hara and Jon Red worked together again that day.

Between Nora and Boyet, there is no longer any need for each other, especially when it comes to work, where they have both proven to be professionals.

On a personal level, Nora also mentioned that even though they broke up, their beautiful friendship remained.

“That was a big sacrifice for me,” Ate Guy also mentioned, in the presence of Ian.

“It’s my fault too, eh. I admit it. If I hadn’t been so stubborn back then, we wouldn’t have broken up.”

But Nora smiles when she remembers something during those years when she and Boyet were separated.

“We’re still dating! He’s dating me, even though we’re separated!

“He tells me about the people he’s been dating; and I also tell him about the people who’ve been dating me,” Guy said, which made Ian happy.
