Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes (right, with co-star Anne Curtis) on the inspiration behind their latest movie, Sid & Aya: “Ang inspirasyon talaga ay galing kay Direk Irene [Villamor]. Ang bagong pelikula ni Dingdong Dantes at Anne Curtis sa Viva Films, ang Sid & Aya (Not A Love Story), ay naihahalintulad ng ilang netizens sa ilang pelikula tulad ng Hollywood movie na Friends with Benefits.
Pero ayon mismo sa actor, “Ang inspirasyon talaga ay galing kay Direk Irene [Villamor].
“Hindi ko alam kung galing sa personal niyang buhay pero matagal na raw niyang pina-project ‘to.
“Matinding research din ang ginawa niya dahil years ago, pinag-uusapan na namin siya.
“So in terms of inspiration, I think the closest inspiration is the book itself, yung Black Swan.”
Ang tinutukoy ni Dingdong ay ang librong The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable, na isinulat ni Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

Paglinaw pa ni Dingdong, “Well, with Direk Irene’s term, tungkol sa dalawang taong naggagaguhan.
“Ganun nga, parang minsan mas maganda pang wala nang masyadong maraming paliwanag.
“Kaya hindi siya love story, kasi hindi siya siguro yung story na may ending na kikiligin ka.”
ROLE. Naging exciting daw lalo kay Dingdong ang pelikula dahil malayo raw sa kung sino siya sa totoong buhay ang karakter niya bilang si Sid.
Ayon kay Dingdong, “Insomniac kasi ang character ni Sid.
“E, relaxed ako lately, chill-chill lang ako lately so I think, wala.
“Isa ito sa mga character na malayo talaga sa akin.
“Exciting siyang gampanan kasi malayo siya sa katotohanan.
“Hindi naman siya outright na good guy.
“Alam mo na flawed character, maraming pinagdadaanan.
“Maraming issues and then suddenly mababago ang buhay niya dahil sa isang Aya na makikilala niya.”
TIMELY TEAM-UP. Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na magkasama sina Dingdong at Anne.
Pero halos pareho pa lang silang nagsisimula noon sa Kapuso network nang magkasama sila sa ilang serye.
Yung sila na ang magkapareha ang ngayon pa lamang.
Kumustang katrabaho si Anne?
Lahad niya, “Kasi, malaking bagay na magkasama kami twenty years ago.
“Makikita mo ang growth niya. For one, nasa TV siya araw-araw.
“Alam mo kung ano yung pinanggalingan namin pareho, sa T.G.I.S., yung ganun.
“So nakakatuwa yung evolution yung kanyang pagkatao at saka film choices dahil it really speaks about yung kung ano ang mahalaga sa kanya.
“Makikita mo na hindi lang siya active everyday sa It’s Showtime, pero mahal din niya ang craft niya as an actress dahil nababasa ko rin yung ginagawa niya sa Buy Bust.”
Dugtong pa niya, “Like rito, talagang hangga’t maaari, wala siyang kasabay na pelikulang ginagawa, kasi nakakalito talaga yun kapag dalawa ang sinasabayan niya.”
Katulad ni Anne, wala rin siya halos ginawang kasabay ng Sid & Aya.
