MANY Filipinos have known Kim Chiu as “Chinita Princess” and “Multimedia Idol” who has done dozens of successful projects that earned her multiple awards.

Since winning the first teen edition of  the reality television show Pinoy Big Brother, the 33-year-old multifaceted entertainer has been unstoppable in conquering the local entertainment industry, venturing not only into acting but also into singing, dancing, hosting, modeling, and vlogging.

Chiu is also among the most followed Filipino stars, accumulating millions of followers in her social media accounts.

But behind the stardom is a simple Chiu who, just like other people, has various roles to play in her family and community.

A caring, supportive sister

Chiu is the fourth child in her family and a sister to her four other siblings: Lakam, Twinkle, William, and John Paul.

The actress appears to have a close relationship with her siblings, who describe her as a kind, caring and generous sister.

“Sobrang salamat kasi hindi ka madamot as a person and as a sister, kaya we really appreciate everything that you did for the family,” her youngest sibling John Paul said in a surprise video message to Chiu during the September 23 episode of Magandang Buhay.

Twinkle, meanwhile, described Chiu as responsible despite being the youngest daughter in their family.

“Sobrang maalaga siya sa’ming lahat. Hindi niya iniisip yung sarili niya, iniisip niya buong family na paano kami,” she shared with the show’s host.

William also said that his sister has been supportive of them no matter the circumstances.

Chiu reunited with her siblings in May 2022. It was the first time they were complete, following the passing of their mother in 2013.

A ‘lovable, indestructible’ partner

Chiu has been dating actor Xian Lim for over a decade.

Being in a relationship with each other since 2012, Lim sees Chiu not only as his girlfriend, but also as his “travel partner” and “bestfriend,” whom he enjoys spending time with.

The couple has visited various places in the world, which allowed them to get to know each other better.

“Times may get rough and we may get lost along our journey but it’s finding our way together that matters most,” he wrote in the caption of his January 4 Instagram post that showed sweet moments from their vacation.

Lim also proved that his love for his partner never fails as he looked back on the years they spent together, in his birthday message to his girlfriend in April.

The 34-year-old actor said Chiu has always been “lovable and indestructible” no matter what challenges come her way.

Some fans of the couple, also known as “KimXi,” have probably been wondering if the two are ready to take their relationship to another level, but the lovebirds are in no rush — at least for now.

A helpful hand

The It’s Showtime host uses her wide reach not only to promote her work, but also various causes.

Chiu, who battled asthma during her younger years, joined an awareness campaign against the major noncommunicable disease in February 2015. She has also been visiting Isla Pulo, Navotas City to share her blessings with its residents.

When super typhoon Yolanda hit the country, Chiu was among the celebrities who helped in the relief efforts for the victims.

In June 2022, the actress visited and gave back to Center of HOPE, a faith-based charity that helps children recover from trauma.

‘House of Little Bunny PH’ owner

The Mr. Right singer also realized her dream to become an entrepreneur when she opened her handbag business called House of Little Bunny PH in October 2022.

Chiu offers bags made of genuine leather that come with gold hardware.

In an Instagram post, the actress said that it took her months of planning and “years of pushing” herself to hop into the world of entrepreneurship.

As she launched her business, Chiu said, “I am beyond excited now that I have something I can call my own.”
