Recently, the conversation turned to “closure” among Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu, and Vhong Navarro during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of “It’s Showtime.” Kim found herself at the center of the discussion, facing questions from her fellow hosts.

Vice shared, “You’re fortunate if you can give yourself closure because it allows you to say what you need to say to that person. There are times when it’s too late; you can’t talk to them anymore. Some people don’t want to communicate, while others you simply can’t reach anymore.”

He then asked Kim, “Have you been able to give closure to everyone in your life?” This question took Kim by surprise, leaving her momentarily speechless.

“Why me…” she responded. “Of course.”

Vice pressed further, asking, “Did you talk to them, or did they talk to you?”

“Of course. Everyone can have closure,” Kim replied, noting that while she didn’t specify any ex-boyfriends, they had discussed ending their relationships.

Vice acknowledged, “So you’re lucky you were able to talk it out.”

“Yes. There are things we need to close off in order to open ourselves up to new opportunities,” Kim explained.

Vice then posed a general question: “How do you handle it when you can’t have that conversation?”

Vhong chimed in, “That’s really tough. In our line of work, you might still encounter your ex, and it can be challenging if you don’t have closure. How do you handle that situation when you meet again?”

Kim responded, “What’s important is knowing within yourself that it’s over, so even if you see each other, it doesn’t affect you anymore, even without closure.”

Vice added, “Exactly, acceptance is key. You can’t always rely on someone else for closure because sometimes that person can’t provide it. It’s not because they don’t want to; it might just be that they’re no longer in your life. So, you have to give yourself that closure.”
