Now 34, Kim Chiu was recently announced as the 2025 calendar girl of Tanduay. The Kapamilya actress speaks up about the meaning of being sexy and talks about insecurities.

Kim Chiu is at her sexiest as the new Tanduay Calendar Girl 2025.

The 34-year-old Kapamilya actress was launched as the brand’s calendar girl on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Like other female celebrities selected as calendar girls for alcoholic beverage brands, Kim posed for a photo shoot in revealing lingerie, showcasing a bold and sultry side that contrasted with her typically wholesome showbiz image.

KIM CHIU OFFERING SOMETHING NEW

Kim embraced the challenge: she knew the role required not just physical appearance but a mindset shift as well.

She admitted, “Kasi hindi naman ako sanay to do this kind of photo shoot. Parang scary, but at the same time, when you see the outcome, ‘Aaah, yes, nagawa ko!’

“Siyempre, meron pa ring doubts kasi hindi 100 percent confidently, ‘Yes! Oo!’” she continued, acknowledging how social media comments—both positive and negative—are always part of the experience.

But despite the reservations, she successfully pulled it off.

KIM ON DEFINITION OF BEING SEXY, ON HER INSECURITIES

Kim explained that the definition of “sexy” has evolved over time.

“Being sexy in this modern times, siguro naman wala na yung stereotype of body na, ‘Ah, iyan, sexy iyan.’ If you feel sexy, then you are sexy. So yun lang naman yun, e.

“Don’t be shy about kung ano yung size mo, yung color mo, itsura mo… as long as you feel sexy, flaunt what you feel good about yourself.”

Like many, Kim had to deal with insecurities in the past, but she overcame them step by step.

“Slowly but surely,” she said.

“Hindi naman iyan yung mga insecurities mo, hindi naman iyan in just one click, wala na.

“Yung dati, nahihiya akong ipakita yung tiyan ko kasi pusunin ako, pero I tried to work out more, then konti-konti, one step at a time…

“Slowly but surely, isa-isahin mo lang.”

Kim revealed that she used to be shy about showing her belly, but with more exercise and small steps, she became more comfortable. “Hindi naman puwede one leap, nandoon ka na. Sa lahat naman ng pangyayari sa buhay, it’s always one step forward.”

When asked if she still has insecurities, she responded with a smile, “Meron pa rin naman akong insecurities, hindi ko lang sasabihin sa inyo, pero hindi halata.”

For now, Kim is on cloud nine, as she never imagined becoming a calendar girl.

“This is a milestone I never thought early in my career days,” she shared.

“Pero I believe that this is a testament of how much I’ve grown and how far I’ve come, not only as an artist, but also as an individual, but most especially, as a woman.”
