Cristy Fermin shared her thoughts on Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime’s rivalry

Veteran showbiz insider Cristy Fermin said that Eat Bulaga and the Dabarkads own the crown and they have nothing to prove to Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.

The longest-running noontime show has been on different TV networks for over four decades. Currently, it is airing on TV5 after the Dabarkads, led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, left TAPE Inc.

Eventually, Dabarkads were able to get the court’s order that they were the rightful party to use the Eat Bulaga title.

In recent years, the closest rival that the longest-running noontime show has is It’s Showtime which will start airing on GMA on April 6, aside from GTV. The Kapamilya noontime show officially signed a contract with the Kapuso network on March 20.

Cristry shared her thoughts on this matter, based on the article in Bandera. She said that the Dabarkads, led by TVJ, are reigning in the noontime show game. It was said that some people think that the Kapamilya noontime show will overpower its rival now that it collaborated with GMA.

“Wala nang dapat pang patunayan ang ‘Eat Bulaga’ at ‘Dabarkads.’ Ano pa ba? ‘Di ba? Sila nga ang may hawak ng korona, e,” Cristy said. She added that right now, “patutsadahan” between noontime shows is no longer a trend.

For her, the trend now is finding a way how to maintain a good show to provide entertainment and laughter to the audience.

“Alam mo ‘yung hindi masasatsat, ‘yung na wala na silang iniisip at wala na kasing dapat pang patunayan. ‘Yun ‘yung mga tahimik lang. Ang mahalaga, babantayan nila ang kanilang programa, paghuhusayan pa nila lalo para sa ikakatuwa ng ating manonood. ‘Yon naman talaga dapat, ‘di ba,” the veteran showbiz insider said.
