Is it true that Direk Cathy chose the side of Daniel Padilla?
Speculations surfaced that Supreme Idol Daniel Padilla has director Cathy Garcia-Sampana as “kakampi” against Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo.
Daniel and Kathryn’s breakup has indeed created a controversy in the entertainment industry. The KathNiel fandom was divided as some supported Kathryn while some took the side of Daniel.
Just recently, some netizens speculated that Direk Cathy also took the side of Daniel, based on the article in Abante. The award-winning director did several projects with the former reel and real-life partners.

Allegedly, a supposed statement made by Direk Cathy saying to Daniel, “Kakampi mo ako,” circulated on social media. However, there is no video or social media post to prove this claim from certain netizens.
Because of this, speculations surfaced when the director attended Daniel Padilla’s birthday celebration. Some netizens pointed out that Direk was not present during Kathryn’s birthday celebration in Palawan, as well as, the surprise birthday party for her.
In a previous interview, Direk Cathy said with a laugh that she and other Hello, Love, Goodbye cast members Joross Gamboa and Jeffrey Tam were not invited to Kathryn’s birthday in Palawan.
Based on the Abante article, netizens pointed out that Direk Cathy was not invited to Kathryn’s birthday parties, including her housewarming party. However, the director was invited by Daniel.
