The party-list has accepted the withdrawal of Nora Aunor as the second nominee.

National Artist Nora Aunor withdraws from running as second nominee of the People’s Champ Guardians Party-list.

Party-list accepts Ate Guy’s withdrawalAte Guy’s camp informed the COMELEC of her decision through a letter sent by Carlos Ambayec, the secretary general of the People’s Champ Guardians Party-list.

The letter stated the withdrawal of the award-winning actress.

It read: “On January 8, 2025, Said Nominee Nora Villamayor sent us a notarized letter signifying her withdrawal as second nominee of this Party list.

“Among other reasons said nominee raised her state of health. Same letter was received by your office January 14, 2025.

“It took us time to decide on the matter, as discussions with Nora Villamayor were made.

“We tried to exhaust and explore adoption of further possible medical remedies just to ensure the safe medical condition especially during the campaign period.”

The letter also mentioned that the party gave more importance to Ate Guy’s health, so the party accepted his withdrawal.

But besides Ate Guy’s health, her film Mananambal will be showing on February 19, Wednesday.

If she continues to run on the party-list, she will even disqualify the release of her and Bianca Umali’s film.

But the health of the original superstar is more concerned with the patirdo, so the withdrawal of the National Artist was accepted.

The letter said: “On February 8, 2025, our Board of Trustees and the key election officers of our organization convened and made a unanimous position that a person’s physical and mental well-being is more valuable than any possessions or political aspirations.

“With great respect, we prioritized Nora’s health above our political considerations.

“Given the premises, the PEOPLE’S CHAMP GUARDIAN’S PARTY LIST, on February 8, 2025 accepted and affirmed the withdrawal of Ms. Nora C. Villamayor for all intents and purposes.”

At least, our National Artist Superstar is just stating the truth about her status and circumstances.

Withdrawing from the election is still a more honorable course of action. Unlike others who can barely think and move properly, she is still rushing to join the government to take a position.

We wish our dear Ate Guy the best! We want to see her ok and happy! We pray for that!

The 71-year-old Ate Guy was unable to attend the press conference of the horror movie Mananambal, where she plays a healer.

Is that also due to health reasons? If so, it would be good for her to withdraw as the second nominee of the said party-list.

Meanwhile, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos-Recto, also 71, is a candidate again for governor of the province of Batangas.

Her running mate as vice governor is her eldest son Luis “Lucky” Manzano.

Their tandem, ViLucky! Ate Vi’s youngest son, Ryan Christian Recto, is a candidate for congressman in the sixth district of Batangas.

Ate Vi, Lucky and Ryan led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 3rd Barako Fest on February 13, Thursday, at the Manila-Batangas Bypass Road, Lipa City, Batangas.

On Valentine’s Day, the second day of the Barako Fest, SenCongSec Ralph G. Recto was present.
