Coco Martin narrates the story behind kissing scene with Lovi Poe
Batang Quiapo actor-director Coco Martin and his leading lady in the series Lovi Poe shared the story behind their “higupan” scene.
Coco and Lovi are loved by the viewers for their tandem in the Kapamilya primetime series. As Tanggol and Mokang, they give laughter and “kilig” to their audience. One of the most popular scenes they did was their kissing scene at Mokang’s debut party.
The two lead characters danced and enjoyed the party, then, the intimate moment happened. However, it was just all in Mokang’s dream.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Coco Martin and Lovi Poe were asked about their viral “higupan” scene. The actress has this answer when asked if her “kilig” came from that scene.
“Inaasar nga ako ni Tatay (Pen Medina) na ‘Ang landi-landi mo!’” Sinundan ito ng malakas ng tawanan ng lahat ng nasa presscon kabilang na si Coco,” Lovi shared. She added that it was difficult not to feel the “kilig” because even when Coco was directing her, she already felt that.
“Hindi maiiwasan, eh, kasi kapag pinapanood mo pa lang si Coco na nagdidirek at the same time, habang ginagawa ‘yung eksena na ‘yun, siya pa rin ang nagdidirek habang nagki-kissing scene kami, makikita mo after nu’n, siya pa ‘yung magka-cut, siya pa ‘yung magsasabi kung saan (ang anggulo), so mahirap na hindi kiligin talaga,” she explained.
Coco Martin revealed that he thought of that scene right there and then. It is because nothing intimate happened between their characters, he thought of having a “pahabol.”

“Sabi ko, maganda ‘to, after ng pagkauwi niya, napanaginipan niya pa. Kumbaga, may follow-up. Kasi wala namang nangyari nu’ng debut, kinilig lang siya na na-appreciate niyang may pumalit du’n sa escort niya, eh,” the actor-director said.
Coco also shared that it was supposed to be a smack only. However, when they were feeling the music while they were dancing, they got carried away. When the actor felt that his leading lady was getting carried away also, he made her feel the scene as well.
“Eh, naramdaman, kaya dinire-diretso na namin,” he said.
